A pylon sign refers to any free-standing signage. Free-standing means the sign is mounted on a pole or poles for support. These signs can be any size and have one or more faces and cabinets for multiple advertisement purposes. Pylon signs can also be as simple as one cabinet mounted to a pole. Pylon signs are often called pole or free-standing signs. Basically, they are signs erected on a pole or pylon independent of any building or structure. Since they are typically mounted higher in the air than monument signs, pole signs offer excellent visibility from a distance.
